2019 Camp Sunday

 Celebrate Camp Sunday

Here are some ways your parish can celebrate Camp Sunday:
  • Turn Camp Sunday into a “mini” camp experience. Wear camp tees, sing camp songs, invite campers from your parish to share their experience with the congregation, serve s’mores at coffee hour and take up donations for your parish camp scholarship fund.
  • Hold an On-Site Registration. If you have the technical capabilities (a laptop and a Wi-Fi connection), this is an ideal time to get your campers registered for camp. See the registration page for more info on that process. Helpful Hint: print off copies of the Waiver and Health Information forms for parents and guardians. These forms must be completed by the parent/guardian and sent to the diocese.
  • Promote camp in your parish publications and social media pages. Watch the Diocesan Facebook page, Ministry Memo for camp announcements and shareable information.
  • Print and display our camp poster.
  • Share the 2019 camp slideshow video with your youth and parents.
  • Establish a Camp Scholarship fund at your parish or support fundraisers to help kids pay for camp. Camp costs $250/camper. We NEVER want a child to miss camp for financial reasons.
  • Host a parish sing a long featuring camp songs - like this church did with Baby Shark .
  • Pray for Camp! Pray for our team, for our host camp (Calvin Crest) and for the youth that will be at camp this summer.
Be sure to let us know how your parish celebrated Camp Sunday by commenting on the DioNeb's Camp Sunday Facebook posts or by emailing camp director Ellen King at campcanterbury@episcopal-ne.org.
